The Underwater Navigator Specialty fine-tunes your observational skills and teaches you to use your compass more accurately. If you enjoy challenges with big rewards, take this course and have fun finding your way. You won’t need to rely on others and you will turn yourself into the scuba diver everyone wants to follow.
You will learn the tricks of the trade, including navigation using natural clues and following compass headings. During three scuba dives, you will practice methods to estimate distance underwater, you will also use a compass to navigate while making at least five turns, you will mark or relocate a submerged object or position from the surface and proceed to making a map of the underwater environment.
